Annual Book Sale

Our Annual Book Sale has become a community event which book lovers from Puget Sound put on their calendars.  2010 will mark the 30th year of this event, which takes up the entire gymnasium of the Anderson Center for literature for adults and an additional large room reserved for children’s books. This year’s Annual Book Sale runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m, on Saturday October 23, 2010.  Invariably, a block-long line forms prior to the opening, with shoppers waiting get in at opening time for the best selection.

You will find tables of books focusing on the Pacific Northwest, home arts, travel, art and music, science fiction, classics, religion, science, history, biography, romance as well as a very large selection of mysteries and novels.  Other items include CDs, DVDs, videos and talking books.

Prices are very reasonable with most items selling for a dollar.  Talking books, DVDs and the art books are priced somewhat higher.  For real bargain hunters, after a brief closure at 2:30 the doors reopen, with  items priced at $2.00 a bag.

On-going Book Sale

The on-going sale takes place inside the library, to the right of the entrance. Selection change daily, and the area has become a first stop for many library patrons. Over 20 shelves display books for adults and children. Books are priced at .50 or $1, and current magazines are just .25.  The sale area features seasonal reading such as craft ideas and recipes for holiday events, fiction and non-fiction and children’s books, along with a good selection of recent popular magazines.
